Teen Leadership Conference (TLC)
Our Annual Teen Leadership Conference is a free event that provides teenage girls learning opportunities involving writing college essays, financial literacy, professionalism and more.
EmpowHERment Institute
Our Annual EmpowHERment Institute is a free event that provides women within our community valuable self empowerment workshops & presentations from keynote speakers.
Done in a Day
The Done in a Day (DIAD) Committee serves immediate needs in the community through single day volunteer opportunities. Junior League members have the opportunity to make an impact in the community in which we live and work through meaningful volunteer interactions.
Kids in the Kitchen
The goal of the Junior Leagues’ Kids in the Kitchen initiative, which is supported by The Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc. and its member Leagues, is to promote child health and wellness by empowering children and youth to make healthy lifestyle choices, therefore preventing obesity and its associated health risks.
Girls Education Mentoring Series (GEMS)
The Girls Education Mentoring Series targets middle school girls from our Harlingen middle schools to encourage an honest conversation about a girls world and helps create a sense of support and sisterhood.
Scholarships
Young women in Cameron and Willacy Counties are eligible to apply. Junior League's scholarship committee will review each scholarship application based on each individual candidate's merit, dedication to community service, and quality of application. Professionalism in writing will be taken into account during the review of your application by the committee.
KidFit Festival and Fun Run
Our Annual KidFit Festival and Fun Run is open to Harlingen and the entire Rio Grande Valley community. This event has no entry fee and draws many families to participate in educational, fun entertainment and a fun-run. Participants are provided opportunities to learn about services in the community, nutrition, and ways to achieve a healthier lifestyle.
